A Wake Up Call

I am getting really concerned about Robbie, he is so tired. He exhausted himself yesterday evening by having a full scale tantrum about a missing pair of socks (I am not convinced they are missing at all), then afterwards he sat down and fell asleep. I couldn't wake him up and he was leaning off his chair at such a precarious angle this morning that I was afraid he would end up in a heap on the floor. I couldn't get him to wake up this morning, this problem has now reached ridiculous proportions, he has to get it sorted out. I have told him that from now on getting up in the morning and going to bed at night is his problem, I don't see why I should have to put up with his nastiness when I try to wake him up! If his work want him body and soul, they better park him in the office over night, because he is neither use nor ornament at home. He is like the dormouse at the mad hatters tea party, occasionally he pops his head up and says something totally irrelevant then he is asleep again before he finishes his sentence.

Hands That Do Dishes

Robbie had one of his little tantrums a couple of weeks ago, the sort of tantrum that involves a lot of arm waving accompanied by fancy footwork and interminable ranting. He has this habit of turning his eyes heavenwards as if to call on support for a higher authority. If you block out the noise he looks very much like one of the ground staff trying to land a plane. The cause of all this annoyance was washing up liquid - yes honestly!

We use Persil Aloe Vera washing up liquid, we both like it and Fairy makes our hands sore so we have been brand loyal for years. Suddenly Tesco and Morrisons have stopped selling it. The cause of Robbie's tantrum was the appearance of an alien brand of washing up liquid in the kitchen. He doesn't do change! I have had to scour Northampton for Persil Aloe Vera brand, washing up liquid. You get some very odd looks when you buy 7 bottles at a time! Robbie has taken charge of the situation and he has emailed the manufacturer to find out what has gone wrong!!

Conclusive Evidence

Robbie still says that his behaviour provides no evidence of aspie traits, so he has challenged me to make a list.

He counts the stairs, he used to do it out loud until I teased him about it, now he does it quietly but I can still see his lips moving as he counts.

He acts as if he is the 'fridge police' if I shop and put new food away in the fridge he has to empty the whole thing and pack it again when he gets home.

He has a full scale tantrum if I buy the wrong size or shape tomato sauce bottle because it doesn't fit his plan for where things go in the fridge.

Even more irritating is his habit of leaving post it notes on items in the fridge, it makes me furious.

When we go shopping he he is a total control freak, he has to be the one to push the trolley, he has to pack the trolley and when we get to the checkout the food has to be packed his way (which as far as I'm concerned is not the best way). Usually by the time we get to the checkout I am too exhausted to argue and I just let him get on with it.

Robbie is very possessive about 'his seat' at home and he even gets upset if someone sits on 'his seat' on the train. I fact he will run and force his way to the front to make sure that he gets on the train in time to get 'his seat'.

The clothes he wears are a bit like him, loud, startling and a bit crazy - need I say more!

Robbie is very lovable, but he has a complete lack of awareness of the way that his actions impact on those around him - mostly me!

I could talk forever about his obsession with trains and all things related to the railways, but I think everyone already knows that he lives, breathes and sleeps railways.

In the end, it doesn't matter, I love Robbie just the way he is.
