He was in quite a state when I first met him. He'd had an unhappy time and he hadn't been taking care of himself, he was completely lost. He was a mess, but despite his unkempt appearance there was something about him that made me take notice of him. I didn't intend to let him move in, it just happened, one day he turned up on the door step and by the next day I had agreed that he could stay.
He was cautious at first, it took him a few weeks to adjust to family life but even then he was high maintenance. It cost a fortune to sort his teeth out, he had dodgy feet too. We spent even more to make him look respectable again, but the expense didn't stop there. He has an insatiable appetite and he will eat almost anything, he would even eat the food off my plate if he got the chance! He is not exactly good looking but what he lacks in looks he makes up for in ego. He likes attention, but only on his terms and if things don't go his way he sulks and swears and lashes out at anyone who gets in his way. He acts as if he owns me, he is a bit of a flirt, but if I dare to pay attention to anyone else he is not amused. However inapropriate, he will position himself right next to me and stick to me like glue making it impossible to ignore him.
He often sits there looking out at the world, flirting with the ladies and swearing under his breath at any male that he sees as a threat. Occasionally he takes himself off for a few hours, who knows what he gets up to, but he always comes back when he is hungry. He has some horrible habits, he is a little too open about his bodily functions and he eats things that are only fit for the bin, but when I tell him off he takes no notice whatsoever. He really does think that he is the boss and perhaps he is right. He treats me like a servant and I let him get away with it! I seem to spend my life running around after him, buying his favourite food, clearing up after him and making sure that he is well looked after.
Why do I do it? because I love him, he is the best cat ever!

“Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked” - Warren Buffet
I am one of those people who doesn't like hot or strong tasting food, but my son a more adventurous attitude to food. He enjoys hot and spicy tastes and one of his favourite treats is hot salsa dip. When I went shopping a couple of days ago I bought him some salsa dip because it was on offer. I was I a bit of a rush when I got home and I absent-mindedly packed it into the fridge with the chilled items. The fridge was rather full so I just tucked items in whatever spaces I could find because I knew the fridge fairy (Robbie) would rearrange it anyway - he always does!
We have a fridge freezer with the freezer at the bottom and the fridge above and I find it hard to reach the top shelves of the fridge. I don't know why I put the salsa dip in front of the milk on the top shelf, but it certainly wasn't intended to be a booby trap. The salsa had escaped Robbie's attention on the day of purchase, but it made it's presence felt the following morning. It is Robbies habit to wander downstairs wearing 'not a lot' to make a coffee (tea for me) and to feed the cats. He opened the fridge and reached up to get a new bottle of milk and the glass jar of dip fell from a great height, smashed and splattered everywhere. Thankfully 'everywhere' did not include that sensitive spot that would probably have required a trip to casualty. However it did involve a massive clean up operation which disrupted his morning routine - I was not popular!

Forgiven
Robbie is more or less forgiven for being a pain on Monday evening. I say more or less because he has this annoying habit of making a half apology, that sort of cancels out the apology. He will look defeated and say "OK, I'm sorry, but what I was trying to say was...........". It makes me so cross, I already know what he was trying to say, because he will have said it at least 10 times, but repeating nonsense doesn't make it less stupid and it doesn't make me see things his way!
I had loads of work to do last night and I didn't get to bed until 2am, it was so cold last night, but I didn't want to leave the heating on all night because we get too hot, so I put my dressing gown on top of the duvet over my feet. I was almost asleep when 'Bigfoot' came to bed, I was vaguely aware of him clomping around the bedroom. I don't know what he was talking about, but he was talking loudly. I must have dozed off because suddenly Robbie was in bed and my feet were cold - he had taken my dressing gown away and hung it up. A battle followed and eventually he grudgingly got out of bed and replaced my dressing gown. He moaned because it looked untidy. That is a bit rich coming from Mr Messy - he leaves a trail of clutter wherever he goes!
