Sam is in trouble again! He is not that keen on appearing in the blog but on this occasion his safety may depend on it. I am so frustrated that I want to go and wake him up and ask exactly why he chose to add a tea bag to my load of white washing! It isn't the first time that I have fallen victim to his bizarre laundry experiments, it isn't even the first time I have had the tea bag treatment, but he hasn't done anything like this for ages and I must have been lulled into a false sense of security. When I emptied the dryer earlier today I noticed that my whites were streaked and stippled with yellowish brown marks, I was mystified until I found the remains of a teabag in the filter. It didn't require the services of Sherlock Holmes to deduce that Sam was at the root of the problem and the deep tea coloured stain on one of his school shirts was proof positive. The time bomb had been concealed in his shirt pocket!
Do you know how hard it is to remove tea leaves from a shirt pocket, I was still working on it at midnight having failed in my efforts to remove the stains, I am crossing my fingers that a third cycle in the washing machine may do the trick. If not Sam will find himself seriously in debt!
Sam is 12, he is funny, clever and he has a wider general knowledge than anyone else I know, he is also obsessive, outspoken, frustrating, and completely unpredictable. He has Asperger Syndrome and I love him just the way he is - but I wish he wouldn't mess with the washing machine. Oh well it isn't as bad as the time that a couple of wax crayons found their way into the tumble dryer!

A Tight Fit! 07.06.07
Robbie had one of his 'moments' in the supermarket last night. I can't exactly call it a tantrum because he didn't 'dance' in the way he did when I wanted to buy a lager bottle of tomato ketchup and he was adamant that I couldn't because it wouldn't fit (in the fridge). I was severely tempted to fit it elsewhere at the time, but now the memory just makes me laugh. This little episode was caused by me choosing a different size pack of tea bags because they were on offer. I had done the maths and they worked out cheaper than the larger pack and more importantly they fitted the cupboard better, but 'you know who' couldn't cope with such a major change in his routine. He started to become 'animated' and demanded that we go off and do the maths again, but he was drawing a crowd so I hurried him towards the checkout, still complaining loudly and trying to dodge back to the tea bags. If his behaviour wasn't bad enough, he risked his own physical well-being by suggesting very loudly that I was autistic - look in the mirror Robbie!!
We got home, had our meal and tidied up, but he was still rambling on about tea bags. I really must stop him reading the Grocer if it has this sort of effect on him! I would understand it if he drank tea, but he doesn't he always has coffee, I am the tea drinker. As if he hadn't already said enough he pronounced that I was so much like his Grandma because she used to buy food in packs to fit the cupboards too! Thanks for that Robbie, I really needed cheering up! I can manage to feel far too old old without any help from my family!
With a little help from Sam, I feel that I have had my revenge. On Monday I asked Robbie to buy Sam some new pants and he went to H&M to get them. Unfortunately he bought briefs and Sam was horrified, he likes boxers. Robbie was duly despatched to H&M to exchange them, this time the style was OK, but the colours were so wrong, I am sure they were designed to go with the technicolor dreamcoat! So Robbie has to go back yet again to change them. He was really ranting about it because the assistants will think he is some sort of pervert. Poor old Robbie!

Flying Pigs 12.01.07

Robbie has been forgiven! I was annoyed yesterday, but he was forgiven by bedtime, life is too short to waste it arguing. He eventually went to sleep last night talking about plastic pigs, he woke up this morning still talking about plastic pigs and every conversation with him today has included a reference to his burning desire to have one last ride on a plastic pig on Saturday.
Our garden fence has blown down and needs patching until we can have it replaced, I have the usual weekend pile of washing and ironing, the light fitting in the lounge needs changing and all the usual housework has to be done. The jobs will still be there on Sunday so how can I possibly stop him going if he wants to.
Robbie is not the only man in my life to cause aggravation recently, Sam has been working overtime on the annoying behaviour too. For some reason he has developed an obsessive interest in tea bags despite never drinking tea himself. Someone must have told him that proper tea is made in a pot with tea leaves, and from that snippet he has developed the belief that it is cruel to confine tea in tea bags. He has become a one man tea liberation front and he has been cutting open tea bags and releasing the tea. I keep finding tea leaves in the weirdest places. I don't know where he gets his ideas from!
I hope you like the picture, I was just messing around. Plastic pigs are class 442 EMU's and they are being withdrawn. Tomorrow is their final day of service.
