Things That Go Bump in the Night 24.10.07

Robbie stayed up quite late last night, he was busy on the computer but the TV was on in the background. He hadn't been taking much notice of the TV until a programme about a haunted house came on; after a while he drew my attention to it and said it was really scary. I reminded him that it was well past bed time and I urged him to go to bed, but he seemed reluctant to move, he was glued to the television, but he kept saying it was really scary. In the end I said that I was going to bed and I headed upstairs. Suddenly Robbie lept into fast forward, turned off the TV, raced around to make his last minute checks and almost as soon as I had closed the bathroom door I heard Robbie thundering up the stairs and trotting along to the bedroom. When I got to the bedroom he sat there like a scared rabbit and it took him several minutes to summon up the courage to sprint to the bathroom and back. I reassured him that if the bogeyman was about he would probably run a mile if he bumped into Robbie in his present state of undress, but he still rushed around as if he had the devil behind him. Tonight if he watches any television at all it will be something totally innocent, in fact maybe I will find the Camberwick Green dvd just in case!
