Things That Go Bump in the Night  25.09.2007
I awoke in the early hours of the morning to hear strange slightly hollow bumping noises. I listened intently and was sure we must have intruders, the noise seemed to be coming from the vicinity of the stairs. 'Sleeping Beauty' was comatose so I wasn't going to get much help from him. I crept to the bedroom door and listened, I thought I was mistaken but the noise seemed to be coming from the bathroom at the top of the stairs. I couldn't hear voices or footsteps, just a random bumping and clattering. I decided to investigate, after all there is nothing in our bathroom to attract 'Burglar Bill'.

Survival - Against The Odds!  14.06.07
Sometimes I am amazed that Robbie has managed to survive for so long! Yesterday we had to go to the dreaded Tesco's, we hadn't shopped together for a while and I soon remembered why. We were in the milk section when the first problem occurred, having stopped to collect the milk I turned the trolley and headed back the way we came. I became aware that I had 'mislaid' Robbie and I looked back to see him standing there like a 'terrible two' with his arms folded and a defiant look on his face, I remember Laura doing exactly the same thing when she was tiny. The reason for his strop was that I was pushing the trolley and it is 'his job'. I decided that now was not the ideal moment to address the issue and I left him in charge of the trolley once more. We continued shopping, but my tolerance decreased each time he challenged my choice of purchase. Apparently his choice of bread was better because he preferred the feel of the wrapper, my pack of fish fingers cost fractionally more per 100g than his choice. Similar objections were raised as each item went into the trolley until the temptation to park that trolley was hard to resist.

Terrorise the Traveller 16.01.07

Robbie had a bad start this morning, he rang me before 7am to say that he was on a bus to Coventry as the line is blocked. What a joyless experience that will be!! I had the misfortune of travelling by coach to Coventry last year during the 'Terrorise the Traveller' initiative (otherwise known as the summer timetable!). We went on a stinky old bus, packed in next to the weirdest selection of passengers imaginable, with a loud and uncouth driver whose sole ambition was to enter the Guinness Book of Records by provoking motion sickness in every single passenger during a single journey.

Give Me Strength - But Not Too Much!  13.04.07
I found this on another site and it made me laugh.

Lord, I only pray for Wisdom to understand my man, Love to forgive him, and Patience for his moods. Because, Lord, If I pray for Strength, I'll beat him to death. Amen.
