The Last Day Friday 24th August 2007
Our last day dawned grey, damp and miserable but less windy. When I walked out into the back garden it felt as if the sky had reached down to swallow the earth, it wasn't foggy it was just a clingy damp greyness. It remained like that until 6.30pm when the sun put in a fleeting appearance, everything suddenly looked so much more cheerful when the sun came out. The sea was calmer today, not exactly gentle but much more friendly than it has been and when a chink of sun broke through the solid grey gloom we decided to go for a walk on the beach to make the most of our last evening. We found that the wild tides had left a lot of pebbles and loads of pinkish red seaweed behind. It was interesting to see the difference in the beach after such a short time and I took a few photos to contrast with the rather grim pictures we took on Wednesday.
