Robbie has many good qualities, he is a hard worker and everything he does is done with boundless enthusiasm BUT in terms of tasks around the house he is like a man with a bag of spanners - always ready to stick a spanner in the works! Yesterday I noticed that the tumble dryer wasn't drying the clothes, at first I thought perhaps I hadn't set it correctly, but when I re-set it the same thing happened again. By then i was too tired to argue with it and I plodded off to bed leaving Robbie in charge.
I had forgotten about the previous day when I had pointed out that the tumble dryer was wobbling, Robbie started to pull it out and mess with the legs while it was still working. I was cooking and I'd shouted at Robbie to stop because he would mess up the vent which I had got set perfectly. Robbie came and woke me up to tell me that the dryer still wasn't drying. He went back to investigate the problem and returned to wake me with regular updates. He fixed the problem (that he had caused) but he seemed surprised when I instead of being grateful I gave him a stern lecture about obstructing the vent!
