It feels very strange this evening, I have been abandoned and I find myself sitting quietly in the lounge with only the dog for company. Robbie has gone to Darlington in connection with his work, at least I think he said Darlington, I wasn't really listening. Emily is in Poland, she sent me a text to say they had arrived safely, it was a very long journey. Laura is staying at her friend's house because they are going to London tomorrow and Sam has stormed off to bed because my refusal to let him have microwave popcorn has apparently blighted his entire life. I detest that stuff, it makes the whole house stink and when he last had it I was still finding little husks of corn days later, I don't know how it manages to get everywhere but it always does.
It is rare that I get the opportunity to hold the TV remote control, tonight I have it all to myself and yes, you've guessed there is nothing worth watching on TV. When I was growing up we just had the terrestrial channels and as far as I remember we were fairly satisfied, now we pay an exorbitant amount for satellite television we have a mass of channels to choose from and there is a load of tripe on every single one - I believe they call it progress!
It is odd, I really miss Robbie when he is away, it is so quiet - and I have to make my own cups of tea! I love it when we have holidays or time off together, but I am always ready to send him back to work afterwards. I am quieter than Robbie and sometimes I like time to be still and just do my own thing without constant talking and rushing around. Robbie on the other hand doesn't understand the meaning of quiet, he wasn't built that way. In a way he is a bit like a VW Beetle, quirky, a bit retro, cool and attractive in an unconventional sort of way, louder than strictly necessary and difficult to ignore.
On a completely different subject Bad Walsall Woman seems to have vanished off the face of the earth (if only the real one would) maybe he got tired of cross dressing! Talking of missing persons, Kempoian hasn't popped up for ages either.
