Back on Track

Diplomatic relations have been restored!! We had a lovely day, we went down to the beach at Mundesley. Robbie was very talkative – making up for lost time. As always he talked mostly about trains, for some reason Northern Ireland Railways popped up in the conversation several times. For a change I was rather pleased to listen to his chatter because he told me about Andy Cooper's letter printed in this weeks Rail magazine in response to Barry Doe's recent vitriolic and grossly inaccurate comments about Cross Country Trains. The letter was very well written and considerably more restrained and dignified than Barry Doe deserved. My favourite sentence was 'A wider and deeper understanding of the industry might avoid such inappropriate jibes'. Hopefully they will make sure that they check the facts properly next time Barry Doe throws his toys out of the pram.
